Tru Cabinetry, a rapidly growing manufacturer located south of Oxford, Alabama, is looking for a Transportation Manager to plan and coordinate our daily product shipments.  To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will be an experienced Operations Manager with excellent leadership, problem resolution and management skills.  The position will be responsible for running the Warehouse and Shipping Fleet to manage all finished goods from the Assembly through to our customer's final destination.   Responsibilities will involve growing our Fleet, manager our route planning and fleet tracking capabilities and ensuring on time and complete shipments in a safe and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise the shipments from production to end-user
  • Schedule daily and weekly routes
  • Track orders using functional systems (barcodes and tracking software)
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the warehouse team to ensure proper staging and loading of products
  • Monitor and report on transportation costs
  • Maintain transportation vehicles and equipment
  • Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
  • Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
  • Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material)
  • Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legislation
  • Stay up-to-date with DOT and FMCSA safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in all facets (verbal, email, electronic, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate with customers and trade partners
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all directions including team members, peers, and senior leadership
  • General computer skills (Microsoft suite products, email, search engines, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP software is a plus
  • Critical thinking ability with a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Ability to supervise and train warehouse staff and drivers
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant filed is a plus
  • Valid Driver's License
